About Us
I started my surveying career by working with the North Carolina Geodetic Survey in 1970. One of my first jobs was working with a surveyor setting a brass survey control disk on top of Grandfather Mountain. I soon realized that being outdoors and working closely with clients was something that I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing.
January 1978 was the beginning of my surveying career in Orange County. I started with a dream, a small office, and a couple of great employees that over the years grew to nearly 50. For those 30 years I had the pleasure of working with hundreds of local clients and government agencies on survey projects from the mountains to the coast. I never got tired of seeing new places and meeting new people.
In 2001, I sold my business and since then I am back to dealing directly with clients and their needs. My main support staff is my wife Kim, who performs much of the office/research work and is part of the survey crew. She is also a licensed Building Contractor and Real Estate Broker, which is an asset when working with the many Orange County Agencies.
At this time, I continue to offer all types of surveying services, using the latest technologies such as Robotic Total Stations, RTK and VRS GPS Receivers all tied to data collectors for field to finish data management.
Our office works with GIS, AutoCAD and Carlson Craft software with 3D design, layout and drafting capabilities.
I believe in taking a "hands on" approach working on our clients' projects. I do not pass off my clients to a "project manager", but do most of the work from start to finish.
I have over 30 years of experience in meeting the survey needs of this area and look forward to working with both past and future new clients.
